Town of Croghan Town Court

Court is held at the Town of Croghan Municipal Office, 9882 State Route 126 Castorland, every Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00pm.

District Attorney (DA) night is held the first Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm.

Small Claims night is the third Tuesday of each month at 6:15pm.

Should you be scheduled for appearance on any of the above dates, please contact the Court immediately for an adjournment.

CIVIL AND SMALL CLAIMS:
Can be filed any Tuesday during regular office hours.
Civil & Small Claims actions must seek monetary award only and are limited to $3,000.00. Should you wish to file a small claims action you may print out the Small Claims Application and bring it with you to the Court with your filing fee. Otherwise, you will be required to complete the application when you come to file the claim. An Application to File Small Claim is available by clicking here.

The Court also handles Landlord/Tenant matters that may result in an eviction and/or monetary judgment. These cases may also be filed any Tuesday during regular office hours. However, the Court does NOT supply the forms you need for filing this type of claim. You may wish to retain an attorney to handle this for you, or you may choose to use the “Do-It-Yourself” forms program provided by the NYS Unified Court System.
